Welcome to “Through My Wine Glass”, where I blog about my love for wine and passion for the wine tourism.
To be an advocate for wine tourism in South Africa showcasing wineries, wine regions and wine events. The idea is to showcase how I enjoy the food, events, activities and culture when it meets wine. At the same time I hope to promote inclusivity and diversity and break down the barriers or stereotypes associated with wine. Because I wish to promote wine tourism I do not post any negative reviews and choose to address it with the establishment directly.
Please note that the opinions reflected on this blog are my own or that of my close friends who accompany me. I’m definitely not a wine expert and purely write about the wines that I enjoy. All of the photographs reflected on my blog are taken by Elvina Snell Fortuin or Sampras Noel Kaweesi unless otherwise stated.
I’m 30ish & married to the most amazing man Patrick (who doesn’t drink, Believe me it has its benefits… believe me) we have a sassy little girl and two dogs. When I’m not living life “Through My Wine Glass” I work for a South African Financial Institution.
I grew up in the Cape Flats in a very strict Christian home and where my parents didn’t drink, I the only exposure I had to wine was every other Sunday in church where I got to sniff the Holy Communion wine. My wine journey includes everything from “Card Bordeaux” Box Wine to award winning wines and I look forward to sharing them with you.
If you have your PHD in English Literature then the grammar in this post will leave you horrified, also I might be typing this with a glass of wine in my hand… so don’t judge.
