La Motte’s new vintage release is a classic South African Cabernet Sauvignon made from grapes grown in ultimate Cabernet Sauvignon terroir - Stellenbosch’s Helderberg area. The wine has an elegant minerality and typical varietal characteristics such as berry and plum flavours and hints of cloves, mint and cigar box. Well-considered barrel maturation and firm but accessible tannins ensure a full-bodied wine with a rich consistency and lingering finish.

Every year on 30th August, the wine world celebrates the undisputed king of red varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon – the most widely planted red grape variety in the world. With the potential for fruit, elegance, power, complexity, consistency, acidity and aging, Cabernet Sauvignon's got it all.

There is so much to love about Cabernet Sauvignon. Look for the signature aroma of black currant, and from there, depending on the wine's age and how much time it spent in barrels, aromas and/or flavours can include gorgeous notes of plums, blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, raspberry, mint, violet, eucalyptus, anise, vanilla, clove, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, tobacco, green pepper, black pepper, spice, leather and smoke.

Lovers of fine Stellenbosch wines worldwide can now purchase the very best this celebrated wine region has to offer in one place, online and at cellar door prices. The Simon Wine Emporium, in association with Stellenbosch Wine Routes, is dedicated exclusively to labels that are Wine of Origin Stellenbosch – making it the first offering of its kind in South Africa.
