Kleine Zalze Shines at Veritas with Four Double Gold Medals and Best Achiever Award

Stellenbosch wine estate Kleine Zalze reaffirmed its status as one of South Africa’s most awarded wineries on being announced as Best Achiever at this year’s Veritas Awards - the country’s leading wine competition – for producers entering more than 10 wines into the show. At this year’s Veritas Awards ceremony held at the historic Nederburg Wine Estate in Paarl, Kleine Zalze garnered four Double Gold medals and three Gold gongs on its route to the Best Achiever title.

The 32nd annual Veritas Awards were announced at a star-studded industry event on 7 October, which saw Perdeberg Wines scoop Double Gold for The Vineyard Collection Grenache Noir 2021. Hot on the heels was The Vineyard Collection Chenin Blanc 2022, The Dry Land Collection Fortitude Fortified Chenin Blanc 2021 and The Dry Land Collection Longevity Natural Sweet Chenin Blanc 2018, each to be awarded Gold.

An authentic African experience right in the heart of the Constantia winelands will give tourists and locals the unique opportunity to journey through the history of African music, learn to play a drum and be entertained by the world’s best interactive drummers. The show will be paired with a wine tasting that includes a selection of wines from the top wine estates in Constantia, hosted by Silvermist owner and winemaker, Gregory Brink Louw.

Checkers has added 41 new limited edition wines to its Odd Bins collection, of which two were awarded Double Gold and Gold at the prestigious Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards earlier this month.
Odd Bins 243 (2022 Sauvignon Blanc) and Odd Bins 248 (2022 Sauvignon Blanc) picked up Double Gold and Gold respectively at South Africa’s only international wine competition.
