The recently launched 2023 edition of Platter’s SA Wine Guide has honoured Trade Winds Wine with one of the highest accolades bestowed by the popular wine annual, that of Platter’s 2023 Newcomer Winery of the Year. This prestigious title is awarded to a producer debuting in Platter’s and achieving the highest scores for their wines:
  • an esteemed pinnacle 5 stars (95 points or more on the 100-point rating scale) for the Trade Winds Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 and
  • 4½ stars (94 points) for the Trade Winds Sauvignon Blanc 2021.

Edelspatz, the icon Noble Late Harvest Riesling from Simonsberg wine estate Delheim, reaffirmed its status as one of South Africa's leading Noble Late offerings by securing a five-star rating in the 2023 Platter's Wine Guide, the country's leading guide to ratings of Cape wines.

The top five-star rating was for Delheim's Edelspatz Riesling 2020, made from a Riesling vineyard block situated on the estate's Simonsberg terroir planted in 1985 that has been officially endorsed with Certified Heritage Vineyard status.
