Cape Town, 27 October 2022: Pick n Pay has unveiled its new flagship store in Cape Town. The Waterstone store in Somerset West will be the model for what customers can come to expect at all revamped Pick n Pay stores in the future.
Ònoma Private Cellar is a family owned and operated boutique winery nestled at the foot of the Stellenbosch Hills on Felicia Farm. The farm was purchased by the Yiannakis family in 1999 and in the years that followed, Com Yiannakis produced excellent quality grapes which were sold on to the larger estates in the area. With farming in their blood, the farm was intended as a retirement lifestyle project for the family.
The Swartland’s renowned Riebeek Valley Wine Co. has added a delicious bubbly to its award-winning portfolio. Joining the sought-after Pieter Cruythoff Brut is a Brut Rosé, whose arrival also heralds a fresh new label for the range.
“We’re tremendously excited about expanding this range of very popular wines, named after an early explorer to our valley,” says winemaker Jacques Theron. “With the weather warming up, the timing is just perfect considering they’re both sublime and tasty refreshers.

Fine wine collectors can anticipate a special edition from The Mentors wine stable with a limited edition of 1.5L magnum bottles released in October 2022. Only 200 magnums of The Mentors Perold 2019 were made to commemorate the visionary Professor Abraham Izak Perold, who was vigilant about diversifying the Cape's viticultural offering. The wine honours Prof. Perold for the giant he was, his significant contribution to KWV and for leaving behind ground-breaking, leading to the success of the South African Wine Industry today. As a magnum, the wine emphasises the rarity of the larger-than-life personalities who supported his vision for Pinotage as an indigenous varietal and, subsequently, others to now thrive.
CHARDONNAY RÉSERVE 2021
A pioneering Franschhoek wine estate, Haute Cabrière is renowned for its Cap Classique range and wines made from Burgundian grape varieties. Recently announced, the estate has extended its Chardonnay offering with the introduction of the Haute Cabrière Chardonnay Réserve with the maiden 2021 vintage. This is an exciting addition to the Haute Cabrière Range and the winery’s reserve wine collection which already hosts the Pinot Noir Réserve and Arnim Family Réserve (a Pinot Noir and Syrah blend).
