The 2018 Sommeliers Selection listed wines announced

The Sommeliers Selection is the only South African wine competition judged solely by a panel of South Africa’s top sommeliers, in categories fashioned around the perfect varietals for a restaurant wine menu.

This year, more than 300 wines were entered into the contest which was held in Cape Town in mid-June.

HAND CRAFTED BOUTIQUE WINES

Beautiful Cabernet vines usher you to the wine-tasting area of this boutique winery situated on the foothill of the Simonsberg Mountains. In 2008 the Du Toit brothers Stephen and Retief developed a boutique vineyard on Le Present; making the “Deux Frères Wines” dream a reality. Le Present nestles on the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains in the Stellenbosch Winelands District.

These recipes were specially selected for Tour De France but you can try them anytime

Perhaps the most memorable thing about Loire is the delectable food that is prepared and served here. It is famous for so many dishes and preparations, but its goat’s milk cheeses and classics like pork rillettes are certainly top-of-the-list.

For a fresh lunch, prepare a salad using mixed salad greens and a lemony vinaigrette, add sliced tart green apples (such as Granny Smith), put chunks of goat’s milk cheese (such as chevin) on top, and enjoy with Nederburg The Winemasters Sauvignon Blanc.

Cellar gems put the sparkle back into Meatless Mondays

That's because unlike most other wineries, the famous Stellenbosch winery used zero animal products traditionally used in winemaking to produce its 2018 Delheim Pinotage Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc.
