Perdeberg’s The Vineyard Collection Grenache Blanc 2021 Scoops IWSC Trophy
After months of tasting, which included 99 wine experts sampling wines from over 40 countries, including South Africa and Italy, the 2022 International Wine & Spirit Competition Trophy winners have been announced. Included in the lineup is none other than Perdeberg’s The Vineyard Collection Grenache Blanc 2021, which the panel selected as one of the 20 trophy wine winners – one of only four South African wines to receive the sought after award. In addition, the wine scored an impressive 95 out of a possible 100 points.
Tasted by well-known industry figures Alistair Cooper MW, Victoria Mason, Greg Mutambe and Christine Rudman, this showstopper was described as showcasing flavours of apples and pears, intermingled with white grapefruit, jasmine as well as hints of saffron and honey. A complex wine with great interest, which results in a persist yet incredibly balanced finish. As one of the world’s most widely planted grape varieties, The Vineyard Collection Grenache Blanc 2021 is perfect on its own, or serve with seafood, poultry or spicy dishes to further enhance the flavours of the wine. Available directly from the Tasting Room or online store at R85 per bottle.
“To be recognised with some of the world’s top wines is truly a humbling experience, and it reaffirms our commitment as a team to continue producing wines of premium quality,” says Perdeberg Wines cellarmaster Albertus Louw.
