The Tokara winemaking team is on top of the world with three Wines of the Year and nine wines, starring Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon in the leading role, scoring 91 points or more in Tim Atkinโ€™s much anticipated South Africa 2021 Special Report.

The single minded focus on Cabernet Sauvignon as Tokaraโ€™s signature grape variety is paying dividends with high scores for all three tiers as well as the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon-driven blend.

When it comes to producing wines of premium quality, consistency is integral, and Anthonij Rupert Wyneโ€™s Cape of Good Hope range continues to impress leading UK Master of Wine, Tim Atkin. In his highly anticipated 2021 South Africa Special Report, he scored seven wines in this range an impressive 90+, respectively. This yearโ€™s top scorers were the Cape of Good Hope Van Lill & Visser Chenin Blanc 2020 and Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay 2019, which each scored 94 points out of a possible 100. 

Boplaas Family Vineyards has emerged as Port of the Year with top results in an international assessment of South African wines. Five wines and ports produced by the Calitzdorp winery received outstanding ratings of 90 or more points out of a possible 100. The annual report is compiled by acclaimed UK Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, who produces similar analyses on every major winemaking region of the world.  As such, they are a highly regarded and highly anticipated international perspective on the quality of wine.
