‘Tis the season of Sauvignon Blanc, one cannot t ‘Tis the season of Sauvignon Blanc, one cannot talk about Sauvignon Blanc South Africa and not with immediately think of pioneers of this cultivar such as @diemersdalwines
Although they are not the firsts South African farm to produce Sauvignon Blanc , I do believe they are the first to develop and explore new methods and apply their knowledge in creating exciting Sauvignon Blancs

They just-released The Journal Sauvignon Blanc 2020, following the maiden 2019 version introduced last year.

Made from a single vineyard planted with vines of between 28 and 38 years old. The wine was fermented in barrel, after which it spent 11 months in new and second fill oak, the barrels specially made in France and Austria for Sauvignon Blanc aging.

Escape the Cape and Visit Paarl. There’s nothing better than enjoying a chilled glass of Viognier in a airconditioned tasting room facing the beautiful landscape.
Today I revisited @RidgebackWines after a year and was in awe by the newly opened tasting room, open and bright space without loosing the classic Ridgeback charm. One can easily get caught up by the landscape and serenity.

I astonished that the wine tasting offer was so affordable and sampled so many wines of which I have * Three must-try wines including my #breakfastwine The Lady Luck Rosé selling for R85.00 , The Journey Bordeaux Blend R150.00 & Cabernet Franc R200.00

SA’s most loved & quirkiest fine wines celebrates its 60th anniversary this year with the latest release , @delheimwines in @stellwineroute . What some 1st derided as a failure, the late Spatz resurrected to become a beloved choice of SA's new wine lovers.

Fun fact: Did you know the British wine publication Decanter in 1978 for his packaging voted Worst Label of the Year, spurred him on. As the magazine put it: “What gives this label its Olympic class is the translation of the wine name which, to put it delicately, is ‘sparrow’s dropping’.”

It’s a an absolute privilege to join you in celebrating this momentous occasion.

The Spatzendreck 2019 sells for R245 per 500ml bottle and is only available from the farm or through Delheim’s online shop at https://www.delheim.com/shop-online/.
