Tim Atkin MW, still a huge champion of South African Chenin Blanc as a source of thrilling and original wines, is now turning his gaze on Syrah. Calling it the Cape’s “best red grape”, it also provides the foundation for the country’s only 100-score wine in his 2021 South Africa Report, the Rhône-style 2019 Sadie Family Columella.
