De-centralised festival features outstanding once-off tasting experiences

From bow ties to braaibroodjiesWine Town Stellenbosch is an all-new de-centralised wine festival that brings you the best of the City of Oaks over five days, from Wednesday 3 November to Sunday 7 November. In the blend of this local wine and food showcase are a series of events to take place at venues around the town of Stellenbosch and at participating wine farms. Specials on overnight stays will encourage visitors to overnight and enjoy the full experience.

The quality of South African Chenin has never been better, say the 2021 Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Top Ten Challenge judges. Panel chair James Pietersen believes South Africa has set the benchmark for the grape globally and because of the healthy competitive spirit of innovation amongst local winemakers, the country remains the pre-eminent source of the most exciting and delicious expressions.

FAT bastard wines are ‘tickled pink’ that their well-loved FAT bastard Rosé was honoured with a Double Gold medal, for the second year in a row, at the 2020 Rosé Rocks competition. Rosé Rocks is South Africa’s first dedicated rosé wine competition which seeks to recognise excellence in rosé winemaking and promote the SA Rosé category.

I joined the Riebeek Wine Valley company team to share in the excitement of the highly anticipated launch of the Kasteelberg Chenin Blanc MCC. Born from a love for this place and its people, Riebeek Valley Wine Co. presented their new Kasteelberg Chenin Blanc MCC with pride. This range is a passion project where hand-selected grapes from the foothills of Kasteelberg mountain become the pinnacle of their winemakers’ art.

Uncanny Wines are South Africa’s very first certified wines packaged in cans.
