Get imaGINative with Arbikie

From Scotland’s Arbikie Highland Estate distillery comes a gin which honours the father of the distillery’s owners – Alex Kirkwood Stirling. Stirling senior passed away earlier this year, making this first Father’s Day bittersweet for distillery founders, brothers John, Stirling, Iain and David.

Made with wheat and honey – Alexander’s favourite food – farmed at Arbikie, alongside black pepper, mace and cardamom, carefully chosen by Master Distiller Kirsty Black. AK’s Gin has a creamy sweetness on the palate, balanced by helpings of peppery spices and juniper.

“As farmers we perfectly nurture the ingredients we use to distil giving both a provenance as well as full traceability for our family of ultra-premium spirits,” says Iain Stirling.
“It is the creation of our own unique spirit that sets us apart from other gins, as we grow, distil and bottle on our single-estate in a true field to bottle operation.”

The gin, bottled at 43% volume, is made in a centuries-old method, using mountain-filtered water taken from Arbikie’s underground lagoon.
“We are a single-site operation – the ingredients for all our spirits are planted, sown, grown and harvested within an arms-length of our distillery.”
Records show distilling on the site date back to 1794 – it is the farm-to-bottle culture used by these ancient distillers that inspired the Stirling’s distilling ethos.

“Premium spirits can only come from the highest quality ingredients, and being independent and family-owned we are in the enviable position of being able to oversee standards every single step of the way.”
